So iOS4 allows you to save wallpapers to your homescreen as well as your lockscreen - nothing really new for jailbreakers there and an option that has been available for many other mobile devices for a long while.
But what is new for the jailbroken iPhone is scrollable wallpapers! Now you can flick through the homescreens of your iPhone with your icons sitting on the backdrop of one widescreen wallpaper!
Just like Android, iPhone jailbreakers can now have high resolution panoramic backgrounds with Parallax, an app developed by phoenix3200. Parallax lets you select a widescreen wallpaper from Settings or Photos and whats more, you can configure the scroll speed.
Parallax is USD1.49 available from the Big Boss repo on Cydia and is only compatible with iOS4.
Note that if you have a more advanced theme installed with overlays and specific backgrounds, that Parallax may not be compatible. For best effect the tweak should be used on it's own.
