A father and son team from Brooklyn, NY managed the incredible feat of sending a weather balloon and HD video camera into the edges of space -- tracking the journey using an iPhone with a GPS program and an HD video camera.
The craft was constructed from restaurant takeout containers and used chemical hand warmers to keep the iPhone and camera electronics warm at temperatures as low as negative 60 degrees.
It would be difficult to find an iPhone that has taken a more incredible journey.

There have been reports that jailbreaking your iOS 4.1 device with one of the latest jailbreaks (Greenpois0n, Limera1n, or PwnageTool) can result in breaking FaceTime and getting no cellular data connection. Not exactly what we signed up for when we decided to jailbreak.
Thankfully, there is already a fix out that seems to work well for most users. Apparently the issue has to do with some low-level SMS communication and a reset of the phone's carrier bundle, and both of these thigns can be fixed with a quick download from Cydia and a few tweaks to the phone settings.
Full instructions for the fix can be found here.
The iphone dev team just posted an updated version of their PwnageTool that can jailbreak a number of devices running on 4.1, including the new AppleTV. It uses a combination of the Limera1n jailbreak, the original pwnage2 exploit, as well as an exploit recently found by Comex.
This new tool jailbreaks any of the following devices running on 4.1 firmware:
- AppleTV 2g
- iPad (firmware 3.2.2)
- iPod Touch 3G & 4G
- iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4

Welcome to the newly launched iPhone-Developers.com!
This site was born from the much more popular xda-developers forum, where several iphone-weilding members petitioned the owners for creation of an iPhone forum. After much debate, it was agreed that having a seperate iPhone website would allow the discussion of jailbreaking and other open development on the iPhone platform, while at the same time helping to keep xda focused on Android and Windows mobile devices.
