New map application, ForeverMap2, hits the App Store, on sale for a limited time

The App Store gets yet another maps application today, ForeverMap2. This app features an OpenStreetMaps base, with the highlight coming from their offline map function. The Apple Maps fiasco has since (relatively) died out thanks to Apple's major improvements coupled with the release of Google Maps on the App Store. With that said, ForeverMap2 is worth checking out, especially for those with Wi-Fi only iDevices.

An update to one of the better email applications, Gmail, now includes the ability to swipe between messages without returning to the mailbox.  As well as a new multi-select mode allowing you to delete, archive, and so on.  With swipe heavy Mailbox on the rise in popularity, Gmail needs to meet the needs of the masses.  The app is still, primarily, a classic approach to email applications. Especially if you compare it to Mailbox or Sparrow it seems kind of over complicated and clunky.



Apple Fixes Dangerous Security Hole In iForgot Page

We reported yesterday about a dangerous security hole involving Apple’s iForgot page that allowed anyone to reset your Apple ID password with just a couple simple steps. In fact, all a person needed to use the exploit was your birthday and email address.

However, Apple took down the page just hours after the news broke out, and it is now back up after some maintenance, fixing the troublesome bug.
