Smule (I found out today) is a popular social music app creator for iOS, with multiple applications and thousands of users worldwide. Another one of their success stories, Smule Sing! came out not too long ago, Smule Guitar! released recently actually pairs some of the highest scoring members of Sing! and lets you play along with real vocals from other Smule app users.
Semi Restore is getting a lot of press lately, but their has been a long running utility called iLEX RAT that allows you to make iOS backups, restores, and much more. iLEX RAT is a command line based tool (similar to Clockwork Mod Recovery of Android) that requires the MobileTerminal tweak, found within Cydia, to run. For a quick and dirty tutorial read on.
Well it has been a few days now so, as per protocol, somebody has made an iOS 7 concept video. This time it's all about the improvements that could be made to the iOS native browser Safari. There are die-hard fans of Safari out there, though I use Google's Chrome browser for most everything, even I open the app from time to time. The video shows an improved gesture based approach, similar to that of Google's Chrome browser for iOS.
iOS developer Adam Bell is a Google Glass owner, and he has already configured them to accept iOS push notifications thanks to Google's Mirror API. Pretty cool that he's already coming out with tweaks for something that really won't be available for a while yet. Adam said he will be uploading it to his GitHub soon, and after a while it will be available on Cydia.
Two popular "ruggedized" case makers have joined forces. I'm very excited about this merger, both Otterbox and Lifeproof are at the top of their game in producing high end rugged cases. Though San Diego based Lifeproof is the company being absorbed, the name Lifeproof will remain in use for specific models from the rugged case industry leader Otterbox.
One of the aspects of iOS that I get bored with the most is the lock screen, even with jailbreaking – it's nice to switch it up every now and then. For those who feel the same, we've got an awesome new jailbreak theme for you, LS Squares. This theme adds four tiles to your device lock screen with some useful information, that of weather, temperature, date, and of course the time.
One type of jailbreak tweaks that I find most useful is those that allow you to add shortcuts, whether it be to your favorite apps or actions. Today we get another tweak to that line, developed by Claus Cartel, dubbed SubIc0ns. SubIc0ns give you quick access to seven of your favorite apps where ever you may be in iOS.
A new iPhone 6 concept has been released, and it looks really cool. Mostly because they didn't stray from the already popular design of the iPhone 5. The concepts main differences include an edge to edge screen design horizontally and a gesture based home button. The gesture based home button is a much bigger game changer than just increasing screen size.
