If you've ever spent time in the Android community, there's a very good chance you've heard of MIUI. If you haven't, MIUI is a custom ROM for Android devices. I've personally worked on this ROM for a few years before switching to the iPhone with the U.S. team, porting and translating the ROM from Chinese. MIUI has always been somewhat inspired by iOS, and known for its clean and simple design. Today it comes to iOS, well it's look anyway, with the WinterBoard theme iMIUI.
Velox is definitely one of the best tweaks to hit the Cydia store, mainly because of the fact that developers can create all kinds of add-ons for it. Today, another useful add-on was released by the name of Calculator for Velox. And as you can probably guess from the name, the tweak gives you access to your calculator app right from the homescreen.
I often like to share videos with people over text messages and iMessage, but I run into one problem over and over. That is the restrictive limit Apple, and many others, put on their messaging services. Perhaps you've ran into this same problem, but if you haven't: Apple doesn't let you send videos longer than three and a half minutes. Once again, the jailbreak community is here to save us from Apple's restrictiveness.
For the past couple of months, we’ve seen more and more impressive lock screen designs from a number of different developers. Atom, Grabby, and JellyLock have received most of the attention lately, but a brand new tweak named Axis may be the next big thing.
Earlier this week, an awesome jailbreak tweak by the name of MiniPlayer hit the BigBoss repo on Cydia. The tweak adds an iTunes 11 Mini Player to your iOS device that you can pull out by swiping on your screen. The tweak did get some mixed reviews at first, but a brand new update has just been released working out all the bugs and bringing a refreshed look.
Yahoo’s Weather app for the iPhone was just released not too long ago, and it is has probably one of the slickest designs available on the App Store today. The app’s very minimalistic approach, mixed with stunning Flickr photos makes for an experience that is very refreshing. And if you’re jailbroken, you can now make it your default weather app…
I was very excited earlier today when Brandon notified me that BiteSMS had announced a new feature named “Text Heads.” I was under the impression that the upcoming feature would be similar to Facebook’s Chat heads for the iOS platform. Unfortunately, this is not the case.
I think this is something that we've all been waiting for ever since the feature, pull to refresh, was first introduced. This is one of my favorite features in iOS, and it's a shame it's so natively limited. Once again the jailbreak community is here to lend a hand: A new tweak, PullAll, adds pull to refresh to any WebView apps. Apps such as Twitter, Reeder, Safari and many more.
